What you will do

• Provide outpatient nursing care under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Administer medications, treatments, and nursing interventions according to care plans, policies, and the Nurse Practice Act.
• Assess and reassess pain, apply appropriate pain-management techniques, and document patient responses.
• Educate patients and families about activities of daily living, medications, treatments, and discharge instructions.
• Document care and communicate changes in patient condition to registered nurses, physicians, and clinical managers.
• Participate in delegation, performance-improvement activities, and collaborative patient-care planning.

Requirements

• Massachusetts Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Experience requirements depend on the unit and its needs.
• Ability to apply the nursing process and provide care across patient age groups.
• Knowledge of medications, pharmacology, patient assessment, and monitoring treatment responses.
• Effective communication with patients, families, physicians, and the healthcare team.

Nice to have

• CPR instructor certification.
• Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program.
