Release Manager (Azure DevOps)

What you will do

• Manage the enterprise release calendar and coordinate releases across applications, services, infrastructure, databases, and cloud platforms.
• Lead release readiness reviews, go/no-go decisions, planning meetings, retrospectives, and dependency coordination.
• Define release standards, governance workflows, change approval processes, controls, scorecards, and executive reporting.
• Partner with DevOps to improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, continuous delivery, progressive delivery, and automated rollback strategies.
• Coordinate production deployments, validation, smoke testing, post-release verification, issue triage, and stakeholder communication.
• Identify and mitigate release risks, facilitate deployment war rooms, and support incident response and postmortem activities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in release management, DevOps, project delivery, or technical program management.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong knowledge of Azure DevOps, Azure Pipelines, Git, branching strategies, build and artifact management, and CI/CD.
• Working knowledge of Terraform, YAML-based pipelines, configuration management, and Microsoft Azure enterprise cloud environments.
• Experience integrating release processes with test automation, quality gates, security scanning, and DevSecOps controls.
• Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, conflict resolution, negotiation, analytical decision-making, and executive communication skills.

Nice to have

• Azure, CSM, or ITIL Foundation certification.
• Experience with hybrid cloud architectures and platform services.
