Radiologic Technologist II

Location: MelroseWakefield Hospital, Melrose, Massachusetts; onsite. Rotating day shifts, including every other weekend, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.; Wednesdays off.

Salary: $38.00–$48.34 per hour. New external hires may receive a $15,000 sign-on bonus.

What you will do

• Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures safely, accurately, and efficiently under clinical and radiologist supervision.
• Operate department imaging equipment and request training when needed.
• Prepare patients and rooms, escort patients, complete procedure documentation, and process exams.
• Educate patients about examinations and provide courteous, age-appropriate communication.
• Maintain supplies, support department quality improvement and assurance, and report incidents.
• Apply ALARA guidelines to minimize radiation exposure for patients, families, and staff.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved school of radiological technology.
• Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Massachusetts Radiation Control Board license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, clerical skills, sound judgment, time management, and the ability to respond appropriately to change and stressful situations.
• Ability to transport patients, move portable X-ray equipment, lift 30–35 pounds with assistance, and wear protective lead apparel.
