Respiratory Therapist II - 36hrs/week Evening/Night Shift - Sign on Bonus Eligible

Location: Lowell General Hospital, 295 Varnum Avenue, Lowell, Massachusetts, United States. Full-time evening/night shift, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m., 36 hours per week, with rotating weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.

Pay range: $37.18–$47.41 per hour. Sign-on bonus may be available for eligible candidates.

What you will do

• Provide respiratory care for neonatal, pediatric, adult, and critical-care patients with cardiopulmonary dysfunction.
• Initiate, manage, monitor, and wean patients from invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, including CPAP and BiPAP.
• Administer oxygen, aerosolized medications, nitric oxide, inhaled epoprostenol, and other prescribed respiratory therapies.
• Perform blood gas sampling and analysis, pulse oximetry, end-tidal CO2 monitoring, and other diagnostic procedures.
• Support emergency response, airway management, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, high-risk deliveries, and transport of mechanically ventilated or other high-risk patients.
• Document assessments and interventions, participate in ICU rounds, support equipment maintenance, and assist with staff orientation and clinical education.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree from an accredited Respiratory Care program.
• Massachusetts respiratory care license required.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT); RRT required for employment at Tufts Medical Center.
• At least one year of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to complete adult critical care orientation and independently initiate inhaled epoprostenol and nitric oxide in operating room or ICU settings.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Respiratory Care program.
• Two years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
