What you will do
- Assist the Director of Athletic Performance with the collegiate strength and conditioning program.
- Design and implement sport-specific speed, strength, agility, and conditioning programs.
- Instruct student-athletes and teams in proper strength-training, conditioning, and agility techniques.
- Program training for the specific needs of assigned sports and assist with recruiting prospective student-athletes.
- Supervise graduate assistants and student interns.
- Coordinate daily Bain Athletic Center Weight Room functions, including upkeep, maintenance, and required training compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least one year of college strength and conditioning experience.
- Experience training large groups.
- One of the following certifications: CSCS or SCCC.
- CPR/AED certification, or completion of testing upon hire.
- Valid driver’s license and qualification to operate a vehicle under Texas A&M University System guidelines. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain work authorization throughout employment.
Nice to have
- Prior collegiate athletics experience.
- Effective communication and management skills when working with student-athletes, sports medicine staff, sport coaches, and university personnel.
- Knowledge of NCAA and Lone Star Conference regulations.
