Senior Equipment Engineer - Packaging System Owner (Pharmaceutical Packaging)

Location: Dun Laoghaire, Ireland; onsite work in a GMP-regulated manufacturing plant. Travel may be required at various times to support project execution.

Salary: €70,408.90–€95,259.10 per year

What you will do

• Own inspection and packaging equipment and systems across their full lifecycle, including reliability, performance, maintenance, and future improvement planning.
• Monitor equipment performance, analyze trends, resolve or escalate issues, and develop effective preventive solutions around manufacturing schedules.
• Lead system improvements, equipment upgrades, new equipment introductions, and new product or technology implementation.
• Develop and maintain engineering specifications, GMP documentation, risk assessments, functional designs, user requirements, and standard operating procedures.
• Lead technical root-cause analyses, incident investigations, troubleshooting, and follow-up actions.
• Collaborate with Process, Quality, and Project teams on non-conformances, CAPA closure, FAT, SAT, IOQ, and equipment qualification activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic, or another relevant engineering discipline.
• Senior engineering experience in pharmaceutical, medical device, combination product, inspection, or automated packaging environments.
• Experience with change control, non-conformance management, CAPA, validation, and GMP qualification.
• Strong mechanical and applied engineering capability, including experience with mechanical, electromechanical, and automation systems.
• Experience managing equipment suppliers, vendor relationships, contract negotiations, service-level agreements, and supplier performance.
• Leadership, problem-solving, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills in a high-volume production environment.

Nice to have

• Five or more years of engineering experience supporting automated pharmaceutical packaging or inspection lines.
• Automation, serialization, and vision system experience.
• Hands-on experience installing, servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting packaging equipment and automation systems.
• Experience influencing engineering, equipment, and business-area strategy.
