TFS Dispatch Supervisor (Emergency Response)

Location: College Station, Texas, United States. The role includes emergency response, in-person communication, driving, physical activity, and possible overnight travel.

Texas A&M Forest Service operates the ESF4 Statewide Dispatch function within the Texas A&M University System.

What you will do

• Lead an assigned dispatch function area and serve as its subject matter expert.
• Supervise staff, support employee development, build operational depth, and plan staffing for expected demand.
• Oversee emergency response activities and ensure seamless coordination with other dispatch supervisors.
• Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, quality assurance, training, and continuous improvement activities.
• Manage budgets, inventory, grants, dispatch space, systems, equipment, and administrative controls.
• Work with the Deputy Chief ESF4 Statewide Dispatch and Dispatch Coordinator to improve systems and services.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Emergency Management, Fire Administration, Business Administration, Science, or a related field; equivalent education and experience may substitute.
• At least four years of experience with a fire or emergency response agency.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, typing, judgment, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work long hours with minimal rest in demanding environmental conditions and meet the annual physical fitness standard.
• Valid Texas driver's license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment.
• NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 certifications are required.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Supervisory experience with a fire or emergency response agency.
• NWCG qualifications in the assigned dispatch function area, including IADP, ACDP, or EDSP.
