Part Time- Days: Registered Nurse, RN- – Acute Care Transition Team (Acute Care)

Location: Lowell General Hospital, Main Campus, Emergency Room, Lowell, Massachusetts; day shift with weekend and holiday commitment

Pay range: $37.50–$68.47 per hour

What you will do

• Provide acute inpatient nursing care for patients admitted while awaiting an inpatient bed, primarily in the Emergency Department.
• Conduct and document clinical assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Use nursing judgment to adjust care according to changes in patient health status.
• Educate patients and families, support informed decisions and advance directives, and coordinate discharge plans and referrals.
• Manage patient assignments through effective delegation and collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams.
• Support staff development through precepting, professional education, and participation in departmental committees.

Requirements

• Massachusetts RN licensure required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Department-specific certifications relevant to the patient population may be required.
• RN experience must correspond to the applicable career level: less than 12 months, 12 months to less than 3 years, 3 to less than 8 years, or 8+ years.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare professionals.
• Knowledge and application of the nursing process, including the ability to lift and maneuver patients and stand or walk for extended periods.
