Software Engineer 2 (ML Deployment)

Location: Hybrid in Laurel, Maryland, with 25% telework. United States citizenship and an agency-appropriate security clearance, such as active TS/SCI with the required polygraph, are required.

Salary: $64.04–$120.27 per hour, before benefits.

What you will do

• Move video, image, speech, and text analytics models from research prototypes to production inference services.
• Build Python CI/CD and packaging workflows for NVIDIA Triton Inference Server, TensorRT execution providers, and Business Logic Scripting pipelines.
• Tune inference pipelines for throughput and support customer transition into production.
• Collaborate with end users and researchers to translate requirements into practical software solutions.
• Review and test software against design requirements, create user documentation, and establish deployment best practices.
• Resolve system problem reports and contribute to system design, infrastructure-as-code, requirements analysis, and hardware/software trade-offs.

Requirements

• TS/SCI security clearance with an agency-appropriate polygraph is required.
• United States citizenship is required due to federal contract requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or four additional years of comparable software development experience in lieu of the degree.
• 14+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong Python skills, DevOps and CI/CD knowledge, and intermediate to advanced Docker experience.
• Beginner to intermediate Kubernetes experience, production deployment experience, and strong communication skills.

Nice to have

• C++, Java, Go, or CUDA development experience.
• Experience supporting production machine learning systems.
• Familiarity with natural language processing, computer vision, automated speech recognition, or video processing.
• Knowledge of ONNX and TensorRT model formats and optimization.
