AI Automation Engineer

Location: Fully remote; contractor must state their location and working-hour overlap

What you will do

• Map workflows with the people who perform them and prioritize opportunities by frequency, time, error cost, business value, and implementation risk.
• Build production automations using approved AI models, APIs, data sources, and workflow tools.
• Implement validation, retries, logging, alerts, access controls, and human approval mechanisms.
• Train users, document systems, measure adoption, and address post-launch gaps.
• Track time saved, avoided cost, cycle-time changes, quality, revenue impact, and other approved KPIs.
• Maintain valuable automations and retire systems that no longer deliver measurable impact.

Requirements

• Experience owning production automations from workflow discovery through rollout, monitoring, documentation, and adoption.
• Evidence of two or three production automations with clearly defined ownership.
• At least one measured result tied to time, cost, quality, revenue, adoption, or cycle time.
• Experience diagnosing workflows before selecting tools and implementing error handling, monitoring, data controls, and human escalation.
• Ability to work as a full-time contractor in a fully remote model.
