What you will do

  • Prepare charts for scheduled visits and ensure diagnostic results, reports, and consultations are available to providers.
  • Room patients, record histories and vital signs, review medications, and document visit information accurately.
  • Perform hearing, vision, respiratory, ECG, screening, specimen collection, venipuncture, and point-of-care testing.
  • Administer medications and immunizations through appropriate routes and monitor specialty and biologic treatments.
  • Process prescription refills and prior authorizations for medications and procedures.
  • Manage clinical supplies and medication samples according to storage, labeling, and stock requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • For MA I: completion of an accredited or externship-based medical assistant program, or relevant healthcare training and experience.
  • For MA II: at least 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • Relevant healthcare experience is required; ambulatory clinical care experience is preferred.
  • CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification is preferred for MA I and required for MA II.
  • BLS authorization must be obtained within 90 days of employment and maintained throughout employment.

Nice to have

  • Rheumatology experience.
  • Experience in a clinical ambulatory care setting.
  • CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification for MA I.
