Linux Build System Engineer (Yocto)

What you will do

• Develop and maintain the Yocto-based build system used to build, customize, and maintain AXIS OS.
• Introduce new Yocto features and keep AXIS OS updated with Poky releases.
• Identify and resolve reproducibility, caching, recipe, and package-structure challenges in a platform serving 900 developers.
• Improve cyber and supply-chain security across the build system.
• Collaborate with AXIS OS developers to improve internal tools and services.
• Use AI-powered tools to automate repetitive tasks and speed up testing and code reviews, while contributing to Yocto and other open-source projects.

Requirements

• University degree in Computer Science or a similar field.
• Professional experience working with Linux build systems.
• Solid understanding of software development processes and lifecycles, with a focus on Continuous Integration.
• Extensive hands-on experience with scripting languages such as Python and Bash.
• Interest in team dynamics and helping teams collaborate, share responsibility, and become more autonomous.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Yocto, BitBake, or OpenEmbedded.
• Open-source contribution experience.
• Understanding of embedded development.
• Experience with Git and code review tools such as Gerrit.
