TL;DR
Senior Guidance, Navigation and Control Engineer (Aerospace) (MATLAB/Simulink): Leading the design, development, integration, and testing of GN&C algorithms and flight control software for crewed and uncrewed aircraft with an accent on vehicle dynamics, control-law architecture, simulation, and Hardware-in-the-Loop testing. Focus on architecting inner- and outer-loop control laws, leading multidisciplinary air-vehicle development teams, and validating complex aerospace systems through end-to-end simulation and flight-control test campaigns.

Location: Lone Tree, Colorado, United States; office or hybrid work depending on program needs. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.

Estimated starting salary: $143,487.14–$197,294.82 per year, plus potential annual incentive pay.

What you will do

  • Lead the design, development, integration, and testing of GN&C algorithms and flight control software.
  • Develop MATLAB/Simulink models for flight controls, vehicle dynamics, and linear and nonlinear simulation analysis.
  • Architect inner- and outer-loop control laws for crewed and uncrewed aircraft.
  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams across the air-vehicle development lifecycle.
  • Oversee simulation campaigns, validation testing, and Hardware-in-the-Loop activities.
  • Serve as a technical authority in design reviews, program milestones, customer discussions, and engineering standards development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, electrical, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • Typically 10+ years of relevant GN&C, flight controls, simulation, or aerospace engineering experience; advanced degrees may substitute for experience.
  • Deep knowledge of vehicle dynamics, stability, control systems, and engineering fundamentals.
  • Advanced experience with computer-aided engineering, analysis, and simulation environments.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink and experience working in multidisciplinary design and development teams.
  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in aerospace engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with STK, FreeFlyer, flight-control laws, HIL testing, aircraft flight testing, or vehicle performance evaluations.
  • Knowledge of MIL-STD-1797B, model-based definition, parametric design, orbital mechanics, or flight mechanics.
  • Experience with aerospace vehicles, sensor suites, actuation systems, and mission-level GN&C.
  • Professional experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
