Vice President - Forward Deployed Engineer (AI)

Location: Boston, Massachusetts, United States; in-office collaboration at least four days per week with one day per week available to work from home

Base salary: $242,100–$332,900 per year, plus potential bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives.

What you will do

• Partner with portfolio management and investment research teams to identify opportunities and translate investment strategies into AI-enabled solutions.
• Design, prototype, and deliver proof-of-concept and production-ready capabilities using machine learning and LLM technologies.
• Build tools that accelerate investment insights, research workflows, and decision-making.
• Collaborate with Investments, Technology, Data, Risk, Compliance, engineering, and platform teams.
• Shape the AI and investment technology roadmap and identify high-value emerging capabilities.
• Transition successful prototypes into secure, scalable, and sustainable enterprise capabilities.

Requirements

• 10+ years of combined experience across investment management, quantitative research or strategy, and hands-on software or AI engineering.
• Experience working with trading desks, portfolio managers, or investment researchers.
• Hands-on experience building and shipping LLM-enabled applications, including RAG, embeddings, agentic workflows, prompt engineering, and API integration.
• Strong Python development skills and experience producing production-quality code.
• Expertise in cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, version control, and API design.
• Fluency in at least one asset class and experience delivering secure, auditable AI solutions in a regulated environment.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting front-office investment teams.
• Familiarity with LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, MCP, agent orchestration tools, and vector databases.
• Experience building internal copilots, research assistants, or document-intelligence tools.
• CFA, FRM, or an equivalent investment credential.
