Senior Machine Learning Engineer (Recommendations)

Location: San Jose, United States; fully in-person schedule of up to 5 days a week

Salary: $187,040–$359,720 annually, plus potential discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Build and design large-scale machine learning algorithms to model creators' real-time interests and improve conversion efficiency.
• Optimize commodity relationship mining, product recommendation recall, and ranking for creators.
• Analyze creator and merchant behavior using large-scale data.
• Develop targeted algorithm strategies to improve merchant monetization efficiency and support business growth.
• Improve the shopping experience for TikTok users and support millions of merchants.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong programming and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of applied machine learning algorithms, including collaborative filtering, matrix factorization, factorization machines, gradient boosting, deep neural networks, and learning-to-rank methods.
• Experience with deep learning tools such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Programming experience in Python, C++, or an equivalent language.

Nice to have

• Experience with recommendation systems, search engines, online advertising, information retrieval, natural language processing, machine learning, or large-scale data mining.
• Publications in relevant machine learning and information retrieval conferences or journals.
• Participation in data mining or machine learning competitions such as Kaggle or KDD Cup.
