Senior Data & AI Engineer (AI)

Location: Hartford, Connecticut, United States

Annual base salary: $139,400–$230,000, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Build, operationalize, and optimize complex data solutions, including transformations, data cleansing, and quality improvements.
• Design scalable data architectures that incorporate new sources and align with enterprise data strategies.
• Analyze complex data sources and determine their value for analytical processes.
• Apply data governance, security, and quality practices across data products and pipelines.
• Serve as a data and technology subject matter expert, partnering with business teams and educating users on data and analytics environments.
• Analyze and resolve complex data and system defects and incidents while supporting delivery and production readiness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related STEM field, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least six additional years of data engineering experience; the broader profile requests ten years of related experience.
• Expertise building scalable, self-healing, cloud-native distributed data pipelines with AWS native services and/or Databricks, loading enterprise platforms such as Snowflake.
• Hands-on experience with dbt and framework-based cloud-native pipeline architectures.
• Experience designing production-grade multi-agent AI applications with AWS AgentCore, Databricks AgentBricks, or similar orchestration frameworks.
• Knowledge of LLM APIs, RAG, vector databases, embeddings, MCP, tool-calling patterns, automated testing, and modern software engineering practices.
