Security Engineer (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Facilitate the onboarding, management, and troubleshooting of managed cybersecurity services.
• Assist with high-priority infrastructure and security incidents.
• Maintain security policies, configurations, and compliance against industry best practices.
• Perform daily operational tasks to meet service-level agreements and identify automation opportunities.
• Implement project requirements and collaborate with vendors and technical support teams on advanced-level issues.
• Track security technologies, trends, and emerging AI-driven security tools.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in IT/OT security operations for medium or large enterprises.
• Hands-on experience with Forcepoint Web Proxy, which is essential, plus some experience with Check Point NGFW and Microsoft Defender.
• Experience working with Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure.
• Experience responding to high-priority incidents and troubleshooting across the OSI model, from TCP/IP to the application layer.
• Australian citizenship is mandatory, and candidates must be able to obtain or currently hold a National Police Clearance.
• Strong collaboration skills and a team-oriented, proactive approach.

Nice to have

• Australian Federal Government Security Clearance at Baseline level or higher.
• Industry or vendor certifications such as CISSP, Microsoft AZ-900 or another Microsoft Security certification, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, or Check Point CCSE.
• Python or PowerShell scripting, infrastructure as code with Terraform or Ansible, RESTful API integration, and AI-assisted security automation.
