Test Lab Technician (IoT Hardware)

What you will do

• Set up, run, and monitor hardware tests according to documented test plans.
• Move, install, and reconfigure cattle collars across test rigs, production jigs, and verification setups.
• Maintain, service, calibrate, and commission lab equipment, including returning faulty equipment to service.
• Assemble and modify test equipment, fixtures, and jigs in collaboration with engineers, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Maintain lab organisation systems, including labelling, storage, sample tracking, unit tracking, and consumable stock control.
• Record test data and communicate test status, blockers, equipment issues, timelines, hazards, and near-misses.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience in a laboratory, workshop, production, or field service environment.
• Background in electronics, mechatronics, or engineering.
• Practical experience with hand and power tools, mechanical assembly, basic soldering and wiring.
• Ability to use test equipment such as multimeters and power supplies.
• Strong accuracy, process discipline, organisation, ownership, proactive communication, and collaboration.
• Commitment to lab safety, housekeeping, and consistent execution of documented procedures.
