DevOps Engineer II (Aerospace)

Location: Southern Pines, North Carolina, United States; office or hybrid environment

What you will do

• Design, implement, maintain, and optimize scalable CI/CD pipelines across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management to create consistent delivery environments.
• Standardize deployment workflows and support repeatable releases across varied products and customer requirements.
• Monitor system performance and reliability, troubleshoot distributed systems, and participate in incident response.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and product teams on architecture, security, deployment strategies, and operational practices.
• Improve operational tooling and documentation while delivering capabilities through an Agile software development team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience; without a degree, 6 years of related experience is required.
• 2+ years of DevOps or related experience and software development experience in an object-oriented language such as Java, Python, C#, C++, or Go.
• Experience with microservices, containers, cloud-native development, Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift, and multiple cloud vendors.
• Experience with managed Kubernetes services, including Azure Kubernetes Service and Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service.
• Experience with GitHub, on-premises Azure DevOps, Linux, release engineering, and CI/CD pipelines.
• U.S. citizenship is required, and the position requires the ability to obtain and maintain an active Top Secret U.S. security clearance.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree and aerospace or defense industry experience.
• AWS or Azure architecture certifications, RHCSA, CKAD, CKA, or Red Hat container and Kubernetes certification.
• Advanced Ansible experience, release readiness coordination, and configuration control of development environments.
