Operations Specialist (Spofford, TX)

Location: Onsite in Spofford/Brackettville, Texas, United States. Travel, overtime, and after-hours emergency callouts may be required.

What you will do

• Operate and maintain gas pipelines, compressor stations, engines, turbines, pumps, valves, measurement equipment, and related process equipment.
• Install, service, repair, and inspect pipeline equipment, corrosion-control systems, storage facilities, and auxiliary systems.
• Maintain facilities and pipeline rights-of-way, including excavation, coating, backfilling, concrete work, painting, and weed control.
• Oversee third-party construction and maintenance activities and train company, contractor, driver, and visitor personnel as required.
• Perform DOT, state agency, EPA, USFS, safety, environmental, documentation, and record-keeping activities.
• Start, stop, and operate engines and pumps within defined parameters while supporting efficient and reliable operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer and math skills, including familiarity with MS Office and company software.
• Valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
• Ability to respond to after-hours callouts and emergencies, work overtime, travel as required, and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather, enter confined spaces, climb elevated platforms and ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Successful candidates must pass a drug screen and background check before employment.

Nice to have

• Experience reading blueprints, P&IDs, and other diagrams.
• Experience with flammable gases, liquids, and high- and low-pressure systems.
• Pipeline or compression experience and knowledge of compressor engines, pumps, and associated equipment.
