Intellectual Property Operations Senior Specialist (Functional Lead)

Location: Sydney, Australia; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days a week

What you will do

• Serve as the senior operational reference point and peer mentor for complex, ambiguous, and edge-case intellectual property and legal moderation cases.
• Process copyright, trademark, and counterfeit-goods cases in operational queues under U.S. legal frameworks while meeting strict SLAs.
• Lead high-stakes escalations, high-profile requests, and emergency incidents during APAC business hours.
• Partner with Account Management, Legal, Policy, and Product to resolve operational roadblocks and communicate status updates.
• Audit workflows, tools, and policies to identify gaps and present actionable process improvements.
• Improve documentation, edge-case guidance, and shift-handover protocols between Sydney and U.S. teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
• At least five years of experience in Trust & Safety, Legal Operations, Content Moderation, Risk Management, or a related high-velocity operational or compliance domain.
• Experience serving as a senior subject matter expert or functional lead, mentoring peers, and guiding teams through ambiguous cases.
• Ability to make independent, high-judgment operational decisions under tight time constraints.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional partners, senior leadership, and Account Managers.
• Availability for varied shifts, including nights, public holidays, and weekends, to align with global and U.S. operations.

• Foundational knowledge of intellectual property law, including practical application of the DMCA and Lanham Act.
• Direct experience handling high-risk escalations.
