Compliance & Risk Manager (Financial Services)

Location: Sydney, Australia; hybrid working with 2 days remotely each week

What you will do

• Review and sign off promotional materials and coordinate regulatory lodgements, reporting, and statutory obligations.
• Maintain and develop the compliance monitoring program, including testing measures, documenting internal controls, and maintaining compliance databases.
• Review compliance processes and design workflow improvements, automation initiatives, and compliance tracking solutions to reduce manual administration.
• Assess business initiatives, projects, and change activities from a compliance perspective and identify relevant obligations.
• Oversee front office mandate monitoring using the Charles River Investment Management System and support product-related requests.
• Monitor regulatory reforms and industry developments, updating policies, processes, and employee training as required.

Requirements

• Five to seven years of experience in compliance or risk within financial services, preferably at a Responsible Entity, fund manager, or investment management business.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Responsible Entity obligations, the Corporations Act, and ASIC Regulatory Guides.
• Experience balancing commercial considerations with reputational and legal risk while managing competing priorities.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage senior management, directors, clients, and external stakeholders.
• Ability to demonstrate initiative, integrity, mentoring skills, and effective project and deadline management.
