TL;DR
Services Lead (Coastal Rowing, Open Water Swimming and Sailing): Coordinating athlete, federation, technical official, sport information, and volunteer services for Olympic and Paralympic competitions at Belmont Shore with an accent on event planning, stakeholder coordination, and operational readiness. Focus on recruiting and training sport-specific teams, managing Games Time operations, and solving issues across LA28 functional areas.

Location: Onsite in the Downtown Los Angeles-based office, Los Angeles, California, United States. Work may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended outdoor periods during event operations. LA28 does not provide relocation assistance.

Annual base salary: $88,000–$110,000.

LA28 is an independent, non-profit, privately funded organizing committee delivering the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

What you will do

  • Plan and coordinate sport services for athletes, International Federations, National Olympic and Paralympic Committee services teams, and technical officials.
  • Coordinate accommodation, transportation, accreditation, hospitality, sport information, databases, and operational resources.
  • Support the planning and operations of test events and the Olympic and Paralympic competitions at Belmont Shore.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and manage employees, sport-specific volunteers, competition teams, and National Technical Officials.
  • Coordinate with Sport Managers, technical operations, federation representatives, LA28 functional areas, and workforce teams.
  • Act as a point of contact to identify and resolve operational issues during Games Time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or at least four years of equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience with international sporting events and collaboration with National and International Federations.
  • Understanding of operational requirements for organizing major sports competitions.
  • Experience managing staff and volunteers at major events and handling multiple projects with numerous stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of project management, planning, tracking documents, reporting, presentations, and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Excellent written and spoken English is essential.

Nice to have

  • Experience or knowledge of coastal and water sports, especially Sailing, Open Water Swimming, or Rowing.
  • Knowledge of Olympic and Paralympic Games operations and sport-specific technical requirements.
  • Experience working with an International or National Sport Federation.
