Industrial and Automotive Business Development Sr. Director

Location: San Jose, CA, United States

Base pay: $295,000; eligible for variable or incentive compensation and/or equity.

What you will do

• Develop and lead the business development strategy for industrial automation, video and vision, automotive, robotics, humanoid, and autonomous vehicle markets.
• Analyze market trends, customer needs, opportunities, and competitive threats.
• Build relationships with customers, strategic partners, and industry stakeholders.
• Support global sales in winning new business and converting priority accounts.
• Lead cross-functional teams in defining, developing, and launching market-aligned solutions.
• Represent the company at industry events and monitor business performance against targets.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in industrial automation, automotive, robotics, FPGA, or related fields.
• Proven experience in business development, strategy, or commercial leadership.
• Strong understanding of industrial and automotive markets, customers, and competitive landscapes.
• Experience managing key customer and partner relationships and leading cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Successful background and reference checks and proof of the right to work in the United States are required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience with intelligent sensors, computer vision, FuSa, security, AI/ML, industrial connectivity, motor control, or autonomous systems.
• Global business development experience and multicultural team leadership.
• Established network in industrial and automotive sectors.
