Location: Based in an office environment in Los Angeles, California, United States. The role includes international, domestic, and local travel for federation events, venue tours, site visits, and sporting events. International travel may occur 1–2 times per year for 1–2 weeks; total travel is approximately 20% or less of working hours.
Annual base salary: $88,000–$108,000.

What you will do
- Lead operational planning for Canoe Sprint or Canoe Slalom and serve as the discipline subject matter expert.
- Coordinate with the International Canoe Federation and internal teams on competition and training venue design.
- Develop competition and training schedules, validate equipment requirements, and integrate timing, scoring, results, systems, and infrastructure needs.
- Plan, recruit, onboard, and lead the Canoe Sprint/Slalom competition management workforce, including staff, officials, and volunteers.
- Manage federation relations, site visits, discipline communications, Sport Delivery Plan inputs, and progress reporting.
- Lead testing and Games-time competition management to support athletes, federation representatives, and venue operations.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience delivering national and international Canoe Sprint/Slalom events in a leadership role.
- Extensive knowledge of Canoe Sprint/Slalom and event operations across international, national, professional, university, federation, and grassroots settings.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong organizational, communication, team-building, interpersonal, problem-solving, and change-management skills.
- Experience coordinating with international and US sport governing bodies and collaborating across venue design, event planning, and delivery functions.
- Fluency with Microsoft Office products, including Excel and PowerPoint; a valid passport is required for international travel.
Nice to have
- Direct Olympic or Paralympic sport experience at a previous OCOG, multi-sport Games, or International Federation-level event.
