Engineering Underwriter

What you will do

• Grow the engineering facultative and treaty reinsurance portfolio across Hong Kong and Taiwan.
• Develop technically sound, commercially viable reinsurance solutions for clients, brokers, and cedants.
• Perform risk surveys, portfolio reserve assessments, account servicing, and claims support.
• Strengthen the North Asia engineering reinsurance market position through client marketing, underwriting training, and technical risk surveys.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to the Global Engineering community through knowledge sharing and research initiatives.
• Maintain accurate underwriting documentation and data quality, and follow up on premium collection, claims data, and regulatory filings.

Requirements

• University degree in engineering or architecture.
• At least 3 years of experience in engineering underwriting or claims handling.
• Strong commercial, analytical, problem-solving, and client-focused skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
• Experience with construction projects or knowledge of building design standards and regulations is advantageous.
• Proficiency in English and Chinese, including spoken Mandarin, is required.
