Underwriter, Casualty (Insurance)

Location: Hong Kong; primarily office-based

What you will do

• Manage the assigned Casualty portfolio, including major-account underwriting and complex new and renewal submissions.
• Select client risks and determine appropriate premiums, terms, and conditions in line with underwriting guidelines.
• Promote Casualty Lines products to international and local brokers, agents, and other distribution partners.
• Build and maintain relationships with producers and distribution partners while supporting customer engagement and service quality.
• Drive product, marketing, and service initiatives across traditional and online channels to achieve production targets profitably.
• Conduct product training, organize sales and marketing events, support senior managers, and deliver ad hoc Casualty Lines projects.

Requirements

• Some experience in relevant or commercial insurance.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations and product training.
• High level of customer service and strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Analytical and decision-making ability, with knowledge of statistics or data management and interpretation.
• Ability to follow risk policies, operating standards, audit controls, and ERM procedures.
• Availability to work primarily from the Hong Kong office.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Casualty products or the General Insurance industry.
• Insurance market presence with brokers or agents.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Power BI.
