Complex Claims Examiner (Insurance)

Location: Hong Kong; primarily office-based

What you will do

• Handle intermediate- to high-complexity Casualty General Liability and Auto Liability claims.
• Perform coverage determinations, legal liability analysis, quantum assessments, negotiations, settlements, and litigation management.
• Manage vendors and litigation within assigned claims portfolios and authority limits.
• Communicate claim developments, outcomes, and portfolio messages to internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain reserves and other financial transactions while minimizing indemnity and legal expense exposure.
• Support quality assurance, continuous improvement, and best-practice procedures for complex claims.

Requirements

• Strong written and verbal communication, time management, prioritization, and workload management skills.
• Specialist knowledge of Casualty General Liability and Auto Liability technical claims.
• Ability to interpret policy wording accurately and consistently.
• Strong knowledge of legal, regulatory, litigation, and procedural requirements for the relevant lines of business.
• Experience with negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution, including intermediate- to high-complexity claims.
• Ability to collaborate with claims stakeholders, contribute to client and Profit Centre meetings, and follow up on technical audit recommendations.
