Machine Learning Engineer, Payment Data Intelligence (Fintech)

Location: San Jose, United States; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days a week

What you will do

• Translate payment business problems into data science and algorithm solutions.
• Build machine learning solutions for fraud prevention, user experience customization, campaign management, risk, compliance, and payment services.
• Own the end-to-end model solution lifecycle and work with stakeholders to deliver business impact.
• Improve modeling infrastructure, labels, features, and algorithms for robustness, automation, and generalization.
• Apply advanced AI technologies, including DNNs and LLMs, to payment data solutions.
• Advance machine learning practices in privacy, compliance, interoperability, risk perception, and analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of applied machine learning experience, preferably in risk management or trust and safety.
• Proficiency in data processing and analytics in big-data environments using SQL, Hive, Spark, or similar tools.
• Mastery of at least one data science programming language, such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Ability to work fully in person in San Jose, up to five days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience in the payment or fintech industry.
• E-commerce or payment compliance experience.
• Experience applying and customizing LLMs.
