What you will do

• Report, research, write, voice, shoot, edit, and present news stories for broadcast, web, social media, and other platforms.
• Arrange interviews, attend events, and gather information from research, public records, and firsthand experience.
• Evaluate leads, develop story ideas, and pitch locally relevant coverage to news managers and producers.
• Determine story emphasis, length, and format while revising content to meet editorial and timing requirements.
• Review copy for factual, grammatical, punctuation, formatting, and editorial-style accuracy.
• Interact with viewers and users on social media and complete special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Fluency in English and excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to ad lib when required.
• At least two years of news reporting experience, depending on market size.
• Superior on-air presence and the ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Flexibility to work any shift.
