TL;DR
Sr. Product Developer - HOKA Footwear (Footwear Product Development): Driving footwear product creation from brief and design through prototyping, sales samples, and production confirmation with an accent on product specifications, testing, manufacturing constraints, and cross-functional alignment. Focus on managing critical paths, resolving commercialization risks, and validating performance, cost, and production readiness.

Location: Portland, Oregon (Hybrid); typically three days per week in the office, Tuesday–Thursday.

Salary: $87,900–$118,600 per year in Portland, Oregon.

What you will do

  • Drive footwear product creation from brief and design through prototyping, sales samples, and production confirmation.
  • Manage project timelines, critical paths, sample execution, and approval of production confirmation samples.
  • Create and maintain product specifications, BOMs, technical deliverables, and PLM data.
  • Review tech packs, technical drawings, test reports, patterns, components, and lasts to identify issues and corrective actions.
  • Support product testing and validation by reviewing results, mitigating risks, and confirming production readiness.
  • Coordinate with design, testing, factories, and other functions to resolve timing, cost, quality, and commercialization risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 4–6 years of experience in the footwear development industry.
  • Experience building and maintaining product specifications, BOM accuracy, and PLM data standards.
  • PLM proficiency, such as FlexPLM, including defining data standards and approval workflows.
  • Working knowledge of material applications, product construction, testing and validation, and factory manufacturing constraints for performance footwear.
  • Knowledge of footwear development tools and measurement techniques, including calipers, hardness gauges, and Brannock devices; proficiency in Microsoft and Adobe applications.
