Claims Specialist (Life & Health Reinsurance)

What you will do

• Maintain governance guidelines, quality controls, and adherence to relevant frameworks for HKTW Life & Health claims.
• Manage and assess critical illness, disability, death, and medical claims with technical rigor, ensuring fair, accurate, and timely decisions.
• Support internal claims reviews and audits, providing recommendations to improve technical decision-making and operational efficiency.
• Engage with clients through visits and training sessions to strengthen claims management standards.
• Develop training materials and programs tailored to client requirements and emerging industry topics.
• Provide technical input on emerging issues and support process enhancement initiatives while maintaining accountability for claim quality, accuracy, turnaround times, and customer service.

Requirements

• University degree or equivalent qualification in insurance, business, financial services, law, or a medical discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience handling critical illness, disability, death, and medical claims in an insurance or reinsurance environment.
• Strong knowledge of Life & Health insurance and reinsurance, including technical claims assessment, underwriting principles, and product knowledge.
• Demonstrated analytical capability, including experience interpreting large volumes of data to support decisions and identify trends.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Cantonese are required, including the ability to present and engage with internal stakeholders and external clients.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams, building relationships across diverse groups, and challenging existing approaches constructively.
