Staff Engineer - Software, Frontend Platform Engineering (Angular)

Location: Baltimore, MD, United States

Salary: $130,000–$160,000 annual base salary, plus performance-based compensation.

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership for frontend architecture, platform capabilities, standards, and engineering practices across web and mobile experiences.
• Evolve Angular applications, micro frontend architecture, shared component libraries, design systems, and frontend platform frameworks.
• Design scalable, maintainable, and performant customer-facing applications and improve developer experience.
• Drive client-side observability through monitoring, logging, telemetry, and performance measurement.
• Implement analytics instrumentation, tag management, experimentation, and customer journey measurement with analytics and business teams.
• Improve release processes and deployment automation, troubleshoot complex production issues, evaluate emerging technologies, and mentor engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience focused on frontend development.
• Deep expertise in Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern web application architecture.
• Experience delivering and supporting customer-facing web and mobile applications in production.
• Experience with micro frontend architectures, shared UI platforms, observability, monitoring, logging, and performance optimization.
• Strong communication skills, API integration knowledge, production troubleshooting experience, and the ability to influence technical decisions across teams.

• Experience with AWS and cloud-native application architectures.
• Familiarity with modern frontend build and deployment pipelines.
• Experience leading frontend platform modernization, migration initiatives, reusable design systems, and shared frameworks.
• Experience influencing technical strategy across multiple teams while balancing delivery, quality, and long-term sustainability.
