Assistant Director, Alumni Relations and University Engagement

Location: Canyon, Texas, United States; the role requires travel and work during evenings and weekends.

Salary: Commensurate.

What you will do

• Develop and implement alumni chapters in designated geographic locations, attending chapter meetings and events as needed.
• Plan and execute alumni network events, Homecoming, reunions, chapter events, and other university engagement activities.
• Support alumni membership campaigns, including retention and membership growth initiatives.
• Create promotional materials, invitations, registration forms, event content, and scripts using relevant software.
• Manage web and social media content and identify opportunities for online alumni engagement.
• Build relationships with alumni, university colleges, and other members of the university community.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Four years of related experience in public relations, event planning, external relations, university operations, or marketing.
• Strong computer skills, including the ability to learn new software platforms and use Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse individuals.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain authorization throughout employment; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree.
• Six years of experience with university operations and engagement of multiple constituencies.
• Experience with social media platforms.
• Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills.
• Ability to work independently on assigned projects.
