Communications Specialist II

Location: Main Campus, College Station, Texas, United States; onsite staff position.

Texas A&M Engineering and the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station conduct engineering education, basic and applied research, workforce development, and technology transition.

What you will do

• Research, interview, and write press releases, news features, and feature articles for the Engineering News site.
• Highlight faculty, staff, students, and engineering research through strategic news coverage.
• Identify and support storytelling opportunities across print, multimedia, social, online, and media relations channels.
• Collaborate with multimedia, social media, and design teams to create content packages accompanying stories.
• Assist the content strategy team with content review and creation.
• Manage communications tasks proactively to meet deadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least two years of related experience.
• Ability to work at the Main Campus in College Station, Texas.
• If hired, authorization to work in the United States must be verified through the federal I-9 process.
• Resume or CV, letter of interest, and three work references are required for the application.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in journalism, communications, or science and technology journalism.
