Postdoctoral Research Associate – Geeleher Lab (dry lab) (AI/ML)

Location: Memphis, TN; 100% on-site. Relocation assistance is available.

Starting salary: approximately $85,000 per year, with benefits following the St. Jude postdoctoral compensation scale.

What you will do

• Lead independent computational and AI research projects identifying and prioritizing therapeutic target pairs in pediatric cancers.
• Develop AI- and agent-based workflows integrating single-cell, spatial transcriptomic, bulk genomic, functional-genomic, and pharmacologic datasets.
• Nominate disease-selective cell-surface antigens and combinations using malignant-cell specificity, co-expression, spatial localization, normal-tissue expression, and targetability.
• Collaborate with wet-lab scientists to design validation studies and interpret experimental results.
• Produce publication-quality analyses, figures, visualizations, manuscripts, and presentations.
• Mentor junior lab members and contribute to a collaborative wet-dry research environment.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or equivalent in Computational Biology, Genetics/Genomics, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
• Strong background in quantitative or computational biology.
• Proficiency in R or Python for data analysis.
• Experience leading or substantially driving a complex research project, demonstrated by a first-author paper or comparable contribution.
• Scientific writing, presentation, and communication skills.
• Strong written and spoken English skills are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with single-cell or spatial transcriptomic analysis.
• Experience with machine learning, LLMs, AI agents, multimodal data integration, or automated biological interpretation workflows.
• Experience in pediatric cancer research.
• Interest in rapidly learning and implementing advanced computational techniques.
