Postdoctoral Scientist – Multimodal Representation Learning for Predictive Biology (AI/ML)

Base pay: €60,000–€96,255 annually

What you will do

• Design, develop, implement, and validate AI/ML solutions for drug discovery using multimodal data from perturbed cells.
• Analyze high-dimensional imaging, phenomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics data to derive biological insights.
• Develop and evaluate computer vision methods for quantifying cellular heterogeneity.
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers on algorithm and product development.
• Communicate technical methods and findings to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Document work, maintain code repositories, and publish research in peer-reviewed venues.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
• Ph.D. completed within the last three years or expected within the next six months.
• Expertise in AI/ML for biological applications and at least one of representation learning, multimodal integration, computational biology, or imaging microscopy.
• Experience with foundation models or multimodal modeling for biological data, including Cell Painting, imaging microscopy, or multi-omics.
• Knowledge of Transformers, CNNs, graph networks, self-supervised learning, and multi-instance learning.
• Programming proficiency, preferably in Python, and experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
