Medical Director (Appeals) (Healthcare)

Location: Remote work from home in the United States; the role is listed in IL - Chicago and requires an unrestricted physician license in a U.S. state or territory.

Base pay: $191,500–$355,600 annually, with eligibility for an annual incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Support assigned medical policies and programs.
• Perform medical reviews for appeals and assigned clinical areas.
• Interact with provider communities regarding medical review activities.
• Analyze cases and document reviews electronically.
• Apply strategic thinking and clinical judgment to assigned responsibilities.

Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. with a current and unrestricted physician license in a U.S. state or territory.
• Board certification from an approved medical or osteopathic specialty board.
• At least five years of clinical experience.
• Analytical, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes, for electronic case-review documentation.

Nice to have

• Three years of managed care experience.
• Experience in cardiology, gastroenterology, rheumatology, dermatology, hematology, oncology, or internal medicine.
