Company

hirify.global is a pediatric research hospital conducting translational studies to improve outcomes for children with serious diseases, including malignant brain tumors.

What you will do

  • Analyze, visualize, and statistically evaluate complex biological and clinical datasets.
  • Design, develop, improve, and operate bioinformatics data-analysis pipelines.
  • Apply machine learning and integrate bulk, single-cell, spatial, genomic, transcriptomic, epigenomic, and proteomic datasets.
  • Develop and maintain research databases, analytical programs, protocols, and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with investigators, clinicians, bioinformatics personnel, software developers, and external research partners.
  • Coordinate projects, oversee quality checks, provide training, and troubleshoot computational analyses independently.

Requirements

  • Relevant degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, data science, statistics, computer science, or a related field with a biological or chemical sciences background.
  • At least 6 years of relevant post-degree experience with a bachelor's degree; alternatively, 4+ years with a master's degree or no experience with a PhD for the Bioinformatics Research Scientist level.
  • For the senior-level track, a master's degree with 6+ years of experience or a PhD with 2+ years of experience is required; a PhD is preferred.
  • Experience analyzing high-throughput sequencing data, including short-read Illumina and long-read PacBio or Oxford Nanopore whole-genome sequencing.
  • Proficiency in R or Python, statistical analysis, data integration and harmonization, and reproducible workflow tools such as Nextflow or Snakemake, with Git version control.
  • Strong knowledge of cancer genomics, human genetics, transcriptomics, epigenetics, NGS analysis, problem-solving, communication, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Nice to have

  • Experience with long-read sequencing, RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq or CUT&RUN, Hi-C, DNA methylation, single-cell or single-nucleus RNA-seq, spatial transcriptomics, and quantitative proteomics.
  • Experience building analytical tools and working in a high-performance computing environment.
  • Translational publications in cancer genomics, epigenomics, single-cell, or spatial omics.

Culture & Benefits

  • Collaborative translational research environment within the Neurobiology and Brain Tumor Program.
  • Work with internal and prominent external collaborators across diverse disciplines.
  • Benefits are available through St. Jude.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required.
