What you will do

• Execute full-cycle U.S. payroll processing in Workday, including validation, reconciliation, and post-payroll activities.
• Configure and optimize earnings, deductions, taxes, payroll calculations, and Workday business processes.
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support, troubleshoot root causes, and resolve payroll system issues.
• Monitor payroll data flows and maintain integrations with time tracking, benefits, banking, tax providers, and general ledger systems.
• Coordinate payroll enhancements, upgrades, release impact analysis, testing, and deployment readiness with HRIS, Finance, and IT.
• Support audits and document payroll processes, controls, troubleshooting procedures, and known issues.

Requirements

• 7+ years of payroll experience, including at least 5 years with Workday Payroll, time tracking, and absence management.
• Expertise in Workday configuration, payroll calculations, business process frameworks, and related data structures.
• Experience with Workday integrations, including EIB and Core Connectors; Workday Studio experience is preferred.
• Strong experience executing payroll, resolving issues, analyzing data, and maintaining compliance and internal controls.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation.
• Experience in regulated industries such as utilities.
• Familiarity with Oracle Fusion, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, and ERP integrations.
• Experience with shared services, ticket-based support, multiple pay groups, unionized and non-unionized workforces, or multiple jurisdictions.
