Payroll Analyst

What you will do

• Process bi-weekly payroll end-to-end in Workday, including data validation, deadlines, adjustments, and off-cycle or on-demand payments.
• Review timesheets, new hire and termination data, HR submissions, and Workday records for accuracy before each payroll run.
• Manage multi-state and local tax jurisdictions, tax filings, amended filings, wage garnishments, invoices, and payroll statements through ADP SmartCompliance.
• Prepare payroll reports for annual financial audits and support reconciliation and recording of salary and benefit expenses.
• Answer employee payroll questions, run weekly new-hire payroll orientations, and work with the People team on reporting and employee needs.
• Train offshore team members on payroll processing and provide backup support as the organization grows.

Requirements

• 3+ years of full-cycle payroll processing experience, including tax filings and adjustments.
• Experience processing multi-jurisdiction, bi-weekly payroll in Workday and handling multi-state tax compliance.
• Experience with ADP SmartCompliance for tax filings, amended filings, and wage garnishments.
• Working knowledge of US federal, state, and local withholding tax requirements.
• Strong payroll, payroll tax, analytical, decision-making, communication, and customer service skills.
• Demonstrated accuracy in a high-volume payroll environment and experience processing manual wage and tax adjustments.

Nice to have

• Ability to research tax law and apply it to payroll and jurisdiction setup.
• Experience working with spreadsheets, databases, and large data sets.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Proactive problem-solving and strong organizational skills.
