Senior Rust Engineer (Performance Engineering)

What you will do

• Design highly reliable backend services, systems, and APIs that handle significant traffic fluctuations.
• Monitor backend performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement system-level optimizations.
• Develop asynchronous and multithreaded services using Rust or C++.
• Apply optimization techniques such as caching, memory pools, and object reuse.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex technical challenges.
• Deploy and operate software in production environments using Linux.

Requirements

• More than 5 years of software engineering experience with a strong backend systems foundation.
• Proficiency in Rust, including ownership, lifetimes, and safety boundaries; alternatively, strong C++ skills with the ability to write robust and efficient code.
• Experience with Tokio or async-std and asynchronous, multithreaded concurrent programming.
• Knowledge of TCP, UDP Multicast, epoll, io_uring, and Linux performance tuning, including CPU Affinity, isolcpus, and IRQ Affinity.
• Proficiency with performance analysis and benchmarking tools such as perf, FlameGraph, Cachegrind, and Criterion.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience developing high-performance systems and optimizing performance with C++ or Rust.
• Experience extending production databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
• Experience building trading systems, preferably for an exchange, or working with financial and security-constrained systems.
