Solutions Architect (Finance Data)

Location: Zurich, Switzerland; hybrid work arrangement

Salary: CHF 128,000–192,000 gross annually for a full-time role, plus performance-based variable compensation.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain an end-to-end architectural view of data flows across the Finance landscape, including actuarial and risk systems.
• Design scalable, resilient, and governed solutions for data ingestion, transformation, validation, lineage, and consumption.
• Translate business and technology needs into pragmatic solution designs for engineers, product owners, data specialists, and senior stakeholders.
• Partner with engineering teams to validate assumptions, resolve ambiguity, and ensure architectural decisions are implemented effectively.
• Identify optimization opportunities, dependencies, risks, and architectural trade-offs across data flows, controls, platforms, and delivery processes.
• Use real data, process insight, automation, observability, documentation, and stakeholder feedback to validate solution outcomes.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of relevant hands-on experience in architecture, solution design, or engineering within financial services.
• Hands-on software development lifecycle experience and a track record of collaborating closely with engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of data models, data flows, transformation logic, data quality, lineage, controls, reporting, analytics, and downstream applications.
• Ability to explain complex problems, options, trade-offs, and recommendations through diagrams, structured thinking, probing questions, and concise documentation.
• Experience applying AI tooling effectively and appropriately to analysis, design, documentation, engineering collaboration, or delivery.
• Excellent written and spoken English, plus a bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Nice to have

• Experience with Apache Spark, Python, SQL, and Databricks.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and integrations with SAP financial systems.
