What you will do

• Own the data foundations for AI initiatives, including data quality and training inputs.
• Build and maintain training and retraining pipelines in Azure AI Foundry, covering model catalogs, fine-tuning, deployment, drift monitoring, and production feedback loops.
• Make model design decisions across full fine-tuning, LoRA, QLoRA, DPO, and prompting approaches.
• Run advanced hyperparameter optimization and operate distributed training setups using tools such as FSDP, DeepSpeed, Megatron, or Accelerate.
• Design evaluation harnesses, assess benchmark contamination, and ship models into production.
• Mentor engineers and communicate with clients through email, calls, and meetings.

Requirements

• 5+ years of machine learning engineering experience, including end-to-end fine-tuning of transformer models.
• Strong Python and PyTorch skills, with fluency in the Hugging Face stack, including Transformers, Datasets, Accelerate, PEFT, and TRL.
• Experience building or operating distributed training systems.
• Azure AI Foundry experience, or strong Azure ML experience with willingness to deepen expertise; SQL and at least one data pipeline tool such as dbt, Airflow, Dagster, or Spark.
• Experience with experiment tracking and engineering tools including Git and Docker.
• Fluent, bilingual, or near-native English proficiency is required, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills for client-facing work.

Nice to have

• JAX and CUDA kernel experience.
• Experience running quantized models locally with GGUF, GPTQ, AWQ, or MLX.
• Familiarity with whisper.cpp, flash-moe, MoE routing, speculative decoding, and KV-cache management.
• RLHF, DPO, or preference data curation experience.
