Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer (AI)

Location: Seattle or San Francisco, United States

Salary: $220,000–$280,000 base salary per year, plus standard benefits and startup equity.

What you will do

• Own ML systems end to end, from research and model architecture through deployment, scaling, and long-term maintenance.
• Design conversion and customer-value prediction models using behavioral, CRM, and engagement data.
• Fine-tune and specialize LLMs with SFT, LoRA, and PEFT for AI Sales Agents focused on reasoning, persona alignment, and conversion outcomes.
• Build feedback loops between ML systems and advertising platforms, with continuous training, monitoring, and rapid experimentation.
• Resolve systemic ML challenges involving data quality, model drift, reliability, and development velocity.
• Mentor senior ML engineers and enforce secure coding, sensitive-data handling, authentication, authorization, and company security policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or an equivalent field.
• 10+ years of software product development experience.
• 6–10 years of applied machine learning and production ML systems experience.
• 6–10 years of experience deploying and operating ML models at scale.
• 6–10 years of hands-on experience with Python and modern ML frameworks, including PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; employment verification is conducted through E-Verify.

Nice to have

• Experience with prediction, ranking, recommendation, or personalization models.
• Strong knowledge of LLM fine-tuning and production usage.
• Experience with transformer-based sequence models or multimodal architectures.
• Familiarity with ad-tech, mar-tech, sales-tech, or CRM ecosystems.
• Experience building ML platforms, experimentation systems, or MLOps tooling and leading multi-quarter ML initiatives.
