Servicing Litigation Specialist II (Mortgage)

What you will do

• Manage and track a high-volume portfolio of complex servicing-related litigation matters involving real property law, contested foreclosure, title disputes, and mediations.
• Research pleadings, assess litigation risk and potential financial exposure, and support litigation strategy with internal and external counsel.
• Represent the company at mediations, settlement conferences, depositions, trials, and other critical legal proceedings.
• Retrieve loan-level documents and servicing data for discovery and defense, and oversee outside counsel invoice processing.
• Prepare executive presentations and reports on escalated cases, litigation strategy, and risk.
• Develop policies, procedures, and job aids, improve litigation-support processes, and mentor other specialists.

Requirements

• Four-year degree and/or Paralegal Certificate, plus at least five years of mortgage servicing experience.
• Understanding of GSE and insurer servicing guidelines, legal processes, civil rules of procedure, mortgage servicing, and real property law.
• Proficiency with mortgage servicing platforms and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Expert analytical and research skills, including evaluating documents, calculating timeframes, and assessing costs and losses.
• Advanced written, verbal, organizational, and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex matters to all levels of management.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and collaborate with legal teams and external partners.
