Senior/Lead Contract QA Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote in the UK

Rate equivalent to £75,000 per annum.

What you will do

• Own the QA strategy end to end, including risk triage, process design, automation, and release quality.
• Build and scale a QA function for a fast-moving engineering team.
• Define the quality bar required for safe production releases and higher delivery cadence.
• Automate integration, end-to-end, and regression testing across the Django and NextJS stack.
• Apply AI to test case generation, diffing, log analysis, and other QA workflows.
• Collaborate with product engineers and prototypers to balance delivery speed and product safety.

Requirements

• Senior- or lead-level experience establishing QA functions or frameworks in early-stage teams.
• Hands-on fluency with AI-assisted development and testing approaches.
• Ability to prioritize testing pragmatically and balance risk against delivery velocity.
• Fluency with QA tooling and frameworks such as Playwright, Pytest, or Cypress.
• Experience testing backend APIs, frontend UIs, and asynchronous jobs in a full-stack environment.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling, including GitHub Actions, and strong communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience testing AI-based or ML-driven products.
• Familiarity with factory_boy or coverage.py in Python.
• Experience writing or reviewing testable React or NextJS components.
• Startup or similarly fast-moving environment experience.
