Senior Automation Quality Engineer (AI)

Location: Sofia or Ruse, Bulgaria; flexible and hybrid work models available

What you will do

• Review AI-generated BDD test scenarios for coverage, correctness, and missing edge cases.
• Review AI-generated automation code before merge and serve as the final human quality checkpoint.
• Write and refine prompts, instructions, and context files that guide AI agents.
• Build and maintain Python automation frameworks, including page objects, clients, step definitions, fixtures, and test data.
• Design UI, API, and database test coverage using Playwright, PyTest, and SQL validation.
• Triage self-healing suggestions, onboard applications, and report coverage, regression health, and quality metrics.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on test automation experience with strong Python knowledge.
• Experience with Playwright, PyTest or a similar API automation framework, BDD/Gherkin, SQL, and Git/GitHub pull-request workflows.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, or similar in development or test automation.
• Practical understanding of agentic AI systems, agent orchestration and handoffs, prompt engineering, context windows, hallucinations, and retrieval-augmented generation.
• Ability to validate AI-generated scenarios and code and identify edge cases requiring human review.

Nice to have

• Exposure to LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, Model Context Protocol, or AI coding assistant agent extensions.
