Platform Engineering Intern (Kubernetes)

What you will do

• Build automation and improve reliability for multi-tenant Kubernetes environments.
• Improve the experience of teams deploying workloads on the platform.
• Maintain core platform components and contribute to engineering tooling.
• Assist with cluster monitoring, troubleshooting, and environment hygiene.
• Explore the product engineering lifecycle from requirements definition through implementation.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Expected to have completed the junior year of undergraduate study by Summer 2027.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python, Go, or Java.
• Experience with Linux systems and a basic understanding of AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Interest in DevOps, infrastructure-as-code, and automation tools including Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with container technologies and CI/CD concepts, including Docker and GitLab.
• Experience with a Kubernetes distribution such as OpenShift, Rancher, K3s, or AWS EKS.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals.
