Platform Engineer (AWS)

Location: San Antonio, Texas, United States; on-site 4–5 days per week

Salary: $49,996.80–$290,004.00 per year

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based and hybrid infrastructure in AWS.
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Deploy and manage containerized applications with Kubernetes or related technologies.
• Build secure, automated, and repeatable CI/CD pipelines with development teams.
• Develop custom software components and integrate open-source solutions for mission needs.
• Troubleshoot cloud, network, and platform issues while improving reliability, maintainability, and performance.

Requirements

• US citizenship and an active Secret clearance required; Top Secret, TS/SCI, or TS/SCI with CI Polygraph also accepted.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of Platform Engineering or Software Development experience with Python, Go, or similar languages.
• Experience with AWS infrastructure, Linux administration, networking, shell scripting, Kubernetes, and configuration management tools.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to obtain Security+ certification within 60 days of hire and work on-site 4–5 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, Travis-CI, or Jenkins.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools including JIRA, Confluence, GitHub, or GitLab.
• Experience with virtualization or storage platforms such as VMware, oVirt, Proxmox, Ceph, Rook, or Longhorn.
• Familiarity with Big Data ecosystems such as Cloudera, Hortonworks, or MapR.
• DoD 8140 / 8570 IAT Level II certification or equivalent.
